A University of Maine alumnus (1999–2001), Silva understands the demands of Division 1 football firsthand. He majored in Kinesiology and Physical Education with a focus on teaching and coaching. On the field, he made an immediate impact as an 18-year-old true freshman, starting at both Running Back and Wide Receiver for the Black Bears. He was also a standout specialist, ranking in the top twenty nationally for kick return average in the NCAA in 1999. Following his collegiate career, Silva played two seasons of Arena Football and ten seasons of Semi-Pro football between 2003 and 2020.

Grew up in Kingston, MA, Silva’s roots in the local football community run deep. He was a three-year Varsity starter, playing at Silver Lake High School before transferring to Marshfield High School, where he graduated in 1999. His high school resume is extensive:

• 1998 Division 3 Super Bowl Champion and Super Bowl MVP.
• State leader in touchdowns during his junior year.
• 2x Division 1 and 1x Division 3 League All-Star (Patriot Ledger, Brockton Enterprise, and Boston Herald).
• Current record holder for the most interceptions in Massachusetts Shriners All-Star Football Game history and the 1999 South Squad Defensive MVP.

With over 13 years of coaching experience at the youth and high school levels, Coach Silva leverages his personal journey to guide the next generation. Through programs like the D1 Playmakers Academy, he supplies athletes with the high-level technical knowledge, mental resilience, and recruiting tools necessary to not just reach the next level, but to lead and succeed once they arrive
